Beacon High school, previously called Holloway School was founded in 1907, originally as a boys’ school. They have had many developments since then, and are now a fully comprehensive school for 11-16 year old boys and girls. It has a very poor reputation and it is undertaking a complete rebrand including a change of name from Holloway school to Beacon High. They use social media but not as effectively as they might and were seeking advice and support in maximising the potential of various platforms.
With all the measures of rebranding and changing the school’s name, they wanted to improve their reputation and create a positive atmosphere where positive things can happen and where parents and children would be assured to engage with this school and would feel confident and proud to be part of the school. They wanted to make sure their school stands out, showing what makes it special and trust worthy.
The social media goal was to Build brand awareness & Community engagement. With using pictures and videos to portray the uniqueness and general benefits of their school was considered one of the most effective ways to spread a positive word about their programs and practices. Creating their own groups and communities as well as using hashtags to notify the community about new trending updates. This was considered a great way to build a loyal base of supporters that will share their content with other communities of their own.
